Prepress instructions
Based on our wide-ranging experience with the lay-out and the installation of mega-posters, we have the following recommendations: PDF Version
  • Use contrasting subjects (particularly effective when there is a large distance between the observer and the hoarding)
  • Pastel shades are only suitable when combined with bold colours (particularly effective when there is a large distance between the observer and the hoarding)
  • Keep text to a minimum, and use a font which is one-and-a-half times or even twice as large as for print media (even for logos!)
  • Bear in mind that in certain cities (such as Zurich), the number of words allowed on an advertisement is limited to 5–10 words for road safety reasons
  • Text should be set around 15 cm (six inches) in from the edge of the poster (this is a requirement for installation due to the eyelets)
  • If mega-posters are to be installed on scaffolding, dust will form on the netting which, along with everyday air pollution will cause a white background to look greyish after a period of 2–3 months
